It has been said that your mind determines your reality. If you think negative thoughts then negative things will happen to you. Conversely, if you think positive thoughts, then positive things will happen to you. This is referred to as the Law of Attraction. It means that like thoughts attracts like results.
For example, if you worry about the bills, they will never be caught up. If you stop worrying about them, the resources will come into your life to deal with them. If you are always thinking that things never work out for you, then they never will. If you have positive outlook that things will get better, then they will. “I never have enough money” means you’ll never have enough money. But “I have enough money to get by” creates the resources that let you get by. It may seem like this is a silly or fictional concept but it actually does work and been the subject of multiple books and videos.
One of the best tools you can use to take advantage of the Law of Attraction is the Vision Board. It is a board, (you can use school project boards, Bristol boards, poster boards, etc.) in which you place pictures of things you want to have or things you want to achieve, to give a physical symbol to your desires and goals. Because your mind responds very strongly to visual stimulation, representing your goals with pictures and images actually strengthens your mind’s desire and stimulates your emotions which create the vibrational energy that activates the Law of Attraction.
You will need to find pictures or images that represent or symbolize the things you want to attract into your life and place them on your board. You can use photographs, magazine cutouts, or pictures from the Internet. Use whatever inspires you and makes you creative. You can include affirmations, inspirational words, and quotations. But here’s the thing about vision boards: you need to be specific with on what you want or else you might send wrong messages to the universe! If you are not specific then you limit the universe’s ability to provide the thing you want to attract.
One perfect example of this is the story of John Assaraf , a spiritual entrepreneur, philanthropist, and teacher who is featured in the movie, The Secret. John uses vision boards to create a picture of his ideal life. Many years ago, while flipping through a magazine, he found a picture of a beautiful dream home which he cut out and stuck on his vision board. Over the years, John had forgotten about the picture on his old board. One day, while moving some boxes, he found his old vision board and was stunned to see the picture of his current home in the middle of it.
Out of all the houses he could have ended up living in, he had manifested the exact house that he has envisioned in his mind through his board. And he never realized he had bought his dream home until that point because the picture on his vision board was of the back of the house, and he hand no picture of the front. So his visualizations were always limited to the back of the house.
So I always encourage my students to dream big! Make it your big vision and then you can work on the smaller milestones you need to put together to get there. Do not give a limit to your dreams; you never know what the universe has in store for you!
Also make sure to put on your vision board pictures of yourself and your family in happy moments and comfortable surroundings. Vision boards aren’t only for the material things you want to get but for the emotional successes you want as well.
Now the way that we teach our students to use vision boards in our programs is to use a Chinese technique called the Bagua. It is a method in which you put specific pictures of desires and different aspects of your life in specific locations of your board. This is similar to designing a room in Fung Shui in which the orientation of rooms and the location and orientation of things placed in it can influence positive and negative aspects throughout the room and the house. This technique is used around the world by huge motivators and leaders such as Tony Robbins. This is just one technique in using vision boards. We’ve heard and learned from many leaders, motivational speakers, and successful people, that it really doesn’t matter how you do your vision board, even though the Bagua technique in particular has been known to make manifestation and the Law of Attraction even stronger. As long as you have and use a vision board, it will work for you.
To effectively use your vision board you must see it every day. You can keep your vision board on the nightstand next to your bed. Spend time each morning and evening visualizing, affirming, believing, and internalizing your goals. Bedtime is a powerful time to look at your board as the thoughts and images that are present in your mind just before going to sleep are the ones that will replay themselves repeatedly in your subconscious throughout the night.
You can also put your vision board up on your refrigerator. Every time you go into the kitchen to make a coffee or tea, prepare a meal, or get a drink, you will see your vision board. Look at it, think about the things on it that you want, and visualize yourself getting them.
Another way to use your vision board is to put it above or beside your television. Although you should be spending time looking at and visualizing with your board, when you are not looking at it and rather, watching television, it will still be in your peripheral vision and will be subconsciously stimulating your mind with things you want to have and achieve. And don’t just use vision boards at home. Put up another one in your office or where you work to keep you focused. The more you see and visualize the images, desires, and goals of your vision board, the more positive energy you send out to the universe to make the Laws of Attraction work for you.
As your goals and desires are achieved or change over time, you need to update the images on your board. If not, you will be wasting your time in visualizing things that you already have. Your vision board is an essential part of your motivation and success in building a successful real estate empire. It will motivate you every day and remind you of your WHY and your dreams and your goals. Vision boards work for us and they can work for you too.
